Learn more about Quigley House’s Sexual Assault Services

During April we take time to celebrate survivors of Sexual Violence and work to bring awareness in hopes to end this violence against men, women and children.

The reason we chose to feature #SAAM this April with our multiple shades of teal is to represent that varying shades of Sexual Assault and to honor all victims and survivors. Sexual Assault of any degree is unacceptable and we fight to honor those who have survived and educated others to prevent future sexual assaults.

#SAAM Workshop 4 - Clothesline Project

The Clothesline Project affirms that violence does occur all around us, and in all forms. "It is a visual reminder of statistics that we often ignore." Those who have been silenced can now speak out. The goal is to motivate people to take action. Each display provides information on how to identify and avoid violence, comfort survivors, and impact surrounding regions. It is in honor of survivors who can make a difference by giving their testimony. You can download this blank t-shirt and color it in yourself if you have experienced any of these forms of abuse.

Colors Meanings:

  • White is for survivors who died as a result of violent acts.

  • Yellow or Beige is for survivors who have been battered or assaulted.

  • Red, pink, and orange represent survivors of rape and sexual assault.

  • Blue or green is for survivors of incest and sexual abuse.

  • Purple or lavender represents survivors attacked due to their sexual orientation.

  • Brown or Gray is for survivors of emotional, verbal or spiritual abuse.

  • Black is for survivors assaulted for political reasons or those disabled as a result of an attack or assaulted because of a disability
